COUNCILLOR SCOTT MCKENZIE
I am 42 years old, born and raised in Whangārei and I am standing for re-election in the Hikurangi Coastal Ward for Whangārei District Council.
Over the past three years I have served full time as your councillor, giving the role everything I’ve got. I’ve really enjoyed the challenge, the responsibility and the service to the community that comes with the job.
As a registered architect with over 15 years of experience, I bring a practical understanding of planning, consents and budgets, along with the perseverance to get projects done. I have been a strong advocate for our ward, helping secure council approval for many local projects and working on plans that support growth and improvements across the district. I pride myself on clear communication, being available when people need help and preparing thoroughly for meetings and decisions.
I was raised on a Mangakahia dairy farm and now live in Ngunguru with my wife and two kids. I have strong ties across our rural, coastal and township communities, and am connected to the day to day realities of our district. It would be an honour to continue representing you so please VOTE 1 for me.
